Director of Maintenance Position

 

Priority Air Charter has an opening for a Aviation Director of Maintenance to coordinate, supervise and track the care and repair of Priority Air Charter and Preferred Airparts aircraft and record inspections, maintenance and repairs, of said aircraft. The DOM will also supervise upkeep of the PAC aircraft maintenance facility and related equipment.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic with Inspection Authorization and previous experience with DOM responsibilities. Good people skills are also necessary for the DOM position, including ability to communicate in person, by phone, and in writing.  The DOM should be a hands-on leader capable of assisting with aircraft maintenance and repairs when time allows or the need arises, and be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Computer and organizational skills are essential, as is familiarity with the FARs and the ability to communicate with FAA inspectors and authorities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE/DEPARTMENT: Director of Maintenance for Priority Air Charter, LLC
TYPE OF POSITION: Full Time
DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Monitor aircraft status.
  • Supervise aircraft inspections and routine line maintenance.
  • Communicate and confer with Assistant DOM in regards to:
    • Inspection requirements
    • Unscheduled discrepancies
    • Special inspections, maintenance, and repairs
    • Scheduling and priorities.
  • Transcribe special inspection, maintenance, and repair events on proper inspection forms prior to inspections.
  • Transcribe discrepancies reported by pilots and dispatchers on proper forms for unscheduled maintenance.
  • Monitor the correction of discrepancies; note and describe rectifications in aircraft records.
  • Schedule the inspection, repair, and service of various non-revenue-producing aircraft owned and operated by the company and its proprietors.
  • Complete post-inspection/repair/alteration paperwork.
  • Search PAP/PAC inventory, place “in house” orders and request quotes on vendor purchases.
  • Monitor and maintain consumables inventory and time/cycle limited rotables inventory.
  • Submit orders for non-stock or out-of-stock parts and supplies to Purchasing via Quantum Control system.
  • Track tool and instrument calibration.
  • Approve maintenance technicians’ schedules.
  • Safety: Perform work assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license, Inspection Authorization
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work closely with others and communicate needs and requirements to subordinates.
  • Ability to communicate status of all aspects of shop and fleet to superiors.
  • Ability to communicate discrepancies and rectifications in writing.
  • Familiarity with FARs and ability to communicate with FAA.
  • Ability to communicate with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Participation in the DOT-mandated random drug testing program.
  • Self-motivation, safety mindedness, and a positive attitude are essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  • Bending, Stooping, Standing, Twisting, Climbing Stairs
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
